I earned a BFA in studio art from the University of Michigan, focusing on drawing, painting, and lithography. Always interested in problem solving, I took a number of courses in psychology and received a MSSW with a concentration in mental health from the University of Louisville. I have a private therapy practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Art professor, and artist, Paul Stewart, had a profound influence on my life and career. He instructed 5 students (including me) in our senior year of college for an independent study class. Each participant completed 21 drawings a week for critique. Over the course of the academic year we produced over 600 drawings apiece. From this experience I learned to tap into an endless well of ideas for art and life.
Over the years, I completed many artistic projects including illustrating a book of poetry and organizing and decorating countless celebrations. When my oldest son asked for a painting for his birthday many years ago, I resumed painting in earnest. My medium is acrylic on canvas or board. I hope that you enjoy my work.
